Orchids from "All Over" |
||
Orchids are found growing on/above the ground surface, worlwide, up/down to tha Arctic/Antarctic Circles. They grow in the wild or, given proper care, in cultivation. Today there are 25,000 - 35,000 known species (depending on whom you ask), and over 200,000 hybrids, making orchids by far the most populous living thing. I love to photograph them where/as I not-so-casually find them, and on one notable, guided tour of Costa Rican gardens for ten days in March, 2011. This modest collection will continue to grow over time. Am growing quite fond of the capabilities of Flickr. For the time being, am posting all new and recent work there. Later, will revisit and revitalize the collection on these pages, as time permits. Any comments appreciated. Please excuse the many "u/c" annotations below, and if you have a particular need please contact us. Welcome to the collection, please enjoy, and we would be pleased if you send any comments. |
